RSBSA FY 2027 Budget Preparation Workshop Supports Data-Driven Planning

Five-day national workshop in Malilipot harmonized FY 2027 plans, targets, and budget across all RSBSA Regional Field Offices.
The FY 2027 Budget Preparation Workshop of the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) was successfully conducted on February 9–13, 2026, at Gamboa's Orchard and Farm in Malilipot. The five-day activity gathered representatives from all Regional Field Offices (RFOs) of the RSBSA Program, together with officials and technical personnel from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Office, as well as various DA programs and units that closely coordinate with RSBSA.
The workshop aimed to harmonize plans, targets, and proposed activities for Fiscal Year 2027, ensuring alignment with the Department's overall strategic priorities. Each regional office presented its accomplishments, identified key challenges, and proposed budget requirements to further strengthen the implementation of the registry system nationwide.
While the activity primarily focused on internal planning and budget preparation, its outcomes directly contribute to the welfare of farmers and fisherfolk. Strengthened funding proposals and improved coordination among DA programs help ensure that only validated and eligible beneficiaries are included in government assistance programs. Enhancements in data management, updating of farmer and fisherfolk profiles, and improved system efficiency support faster delivery of subsidies, farm inputs, insurance coverage, and other agricultural interventions.
Discussions also emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and updated records to better guide policy decisions and resource allocation. By refining its budget plans and operational strategies, the RSBSA Program reinforces its role as a foundation for data-driven agricultural governance—ultimately enabling the Department to design responsive programs that address the real needs of farmers and fisherfolk across the country.
The successful conduct of the FY 2027 Budget Preparation Workshop reflects the Department's continued commitment to transparency, collaboration, and strategic planning in advancing inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
